How can I receive payments and how do I set up my banking information?

To receive payments from Apple, accurate electronic banking information is required. 

It is important to provide: 
• Your own banking information, not an intermediary or correspondent bank
• Routing number 
• Account number

To add a new bank account, go to Agreements, Tax, and Banking in iTunes Connect.

Certain countries or regions may require you to provide additional documentation to receive payments. Apple will reach out to you directly if additional documentation is needed.

Note: Both banking information and tax forms must be submitted to receive your paid agreement.

Who can add or edit bank account information?

iTunes Connect users with the Admin or Finance role can add or edit bank account information. Check your role status in Users and Roles.

When you add bank account information, we ask you to certify that you’ve provided accurate bank account information and that you're authorized to provide it.

How do I add a new bank account?

To add a new bank account in iTunes Connect, follow these steps:

1. Click Agreements, Tax, and Banking.
2. Click Set Up Banking and Agreements. This is only displayed when setting up a new agreement. 
3. Under Bank Accounts, click Add Bank Account. 
4. Fill in the required fields:

Name. Enter the name of your bank account. 
Bank Country or Region. Select the country or region where your bank is based.
Bank Account Currency. Choose the primary currency of the bank account.
ABA Routing Number. Enter your bank’s routing number or look up your bank by clicking the link. You can search by your bank name, city, or postal code. Not all branch locations are available in iTunes Connect. Select a branch using your bank code for your account if you don’t see your branch location listed.
IBAN. Enter your International Bank Account Number (IBAN) if applicable. An IBAN is used for payments to bank accounts in Europe and certain other countries.
Account Number. Enter the bank account for the legal entity or individual responsible for the agreement.
Account Holder Name. Enter the name on your bank account held at your financial institution. The name should be entered exactly as it appears on your bank account or your payment may be rejected.
Account Holder Type. Choose whether the account belongs to an Individual or a Corporation.
Account Type. Choose whether your bank account is a Checking or Savings.

Depending on the bank country, additional fields may be required.

5. Select the box to confirm you certify the information provided is correct.

6. Click Save.

The Banking tab of Agreements, Tax, and Banking Overview shows your active and former bank account information

If your banking information is still processing after 24 hours, verify whether you’re required to complete additional tax forms. 

Note: The information in the Bank Country or Region, ABA Routing Number, Bank Name, and Bank Account Number fields can’t be edited. If you need to change any of those fields, you’ll need to add a new bank account.

How do I edit bank information?

Bank information can be edited at any time unless we’re still processing previous changes you made. You can edit your current account, replace it with a new account, or replace it with an account you've used previously. Allow 24 hours for changes to be processed.

Banking updates made while payments are being processed will be applied to your future payments, during the next month’s payment cycle.

  1. From iTunes Connect, click Agreements, Tax, and Banking.
  2. Click “Set Up Tax, Banking, and Contacts.” 
  3. Under Bank Accounts, click Edit.
  4. Select the option that suits your needs.
  5. Follow the prompts to complete your changes.

What does it mean if I have a “We're processing your banking update” message in iTunes Connect?

It takes 24 hours for your new bank information to take effect. During this time, you’re unable to make any changes or modifications to your bank information. You will receive an email after your bank information is confirmed. 

If you don't receive an email within 24 hours, go to Agreements, Tax, and Banking to view your bank details and make sure the update was processed successfully.

Does the Account Holder Name field have to match the Legal Entity Name field?

No, the account holder name for your bank account doesn’t have to match the legal entity name on your agreement. 

The information you provide for the Account Holder Name field, though, must exactly match the name your bank has on file for your account. Make sure this is correct to avoid any issues with your payments. If you’re not sure what name your bank has on file, check a recent bank statement or ask your bank.

How can I switch from an individual bank account to a company account?

You can switch from an individual bank account to a company account by editing your bank information in Agreements, Tax, and Banking.

Add your new company bank account information to your new agreements and make sure that your U.S. tax forms are correct for all agreements.

Note: Only banking changes from an individual's bank account to a company's bank account can be updated in Agreements, Tax, and Banking. You must contact legal for legal entity updates to the agreements. Additional tax form changes are not required.

When will payments be made to my new bank account?

Although you may update your banking at any time, payment processing for the next scheduled payment date generally occurs throughout the first three weeks of Apple’s fiscal month. Banking updates that occur after the monthly payment processing starts will be applied to future payments during the following month’s payment cycle.
