New Poster Art format specifications and updates to existing style guides.

New Poster Art Format for Apple TV
With the introduction of the new Apple TV, you can now create poster art that takes advantage of the Apple TV’s interactive layered effect. To create the poster art, use our Photoshop template and Parallax Exporter plug-in. Just keep in mind that the poster art should have a minimum resolution of 2000 x 3000 pixels, and must be in the LSR (layered stack resource) file format.

Like regular poster art, your LSR files should be submitted on iTunes Connect in your movie’s Worldwide Metadata tab and Art by Country tab in My Movies on iTunes Connect. You can preview your LSR files and see the interactive effect on iTunes Connect before you submit it.

Updated Poster Art Specifications
In addition to the new LSR files for Apple TV, we’re also updating the dimensions for JPG and PNG files to 2000 x 3000 pixels. Although we’ll still support poster art with 1400 x 2100 pixels, we recommend that you submit new and existing poster art in the new file size.

Banner and Fullscreen Customizations
We’ve updated the movie customizations feature in your movie’s Custom section in My Movies on iTunes Connect. You can now upload fullscreen art for Apple TV, and a custom banner, which will be used on iOS and in iTunes on Mac and PC.

• Banners should be 4320 x 1080 pixels and in the PNG file format. We’re still accepting banners in the old dimension of 3200 x 600 pixels, but we strongly recommend that you use the new dimensions. However, you can’t customize the colors of the page or include title treatments. Make sure you’re using the latest template, which you can get from the TV and Movie Customization Guidelines.
• Fullscreen artwork requires two files—one background image and one title image. Background images must be 4320 x 2160 pixels and in the PNG file format. Title images must be 2400 x 390 pixels and in the PNG file format. Make sure you’re using the latest template, which you can get from the Movie Fullscreen Art Guidelines.

Poster Art and Customization Training Sessions
To help get you up to speed with these new artwork specifications, we are offering a number of online training sessions. You can join us every Monday and Wednesday starting on October 7 until October 26. Sessions will be

Mondays, at 11 AM and 5 PM (PDT)
Wednesdays, 8 AM and 1 PM (PDT)

To join a session:

1. Click the session link at least 5 minutes before it starts. You may need to install the WebEx plugin.
2. Enter your name and email, if required.

Updated iTunes Package Film Specification
The language code (nl-BE) for Flemish (Dutch, as spoken in Belgium) has been added to the language codes table for dub card videos.

We’ve also added the updated poster art dimensions of 2000 x 3000 pixels to the guide. Transporter will still allow poster art in 1400 x 2100 pixels, but we recommend the new file size.

As a reminder, don’t use a semicolon (;) as a frame separator in iTunes Timed Text (ITT) files. Instead, use the dropNTSC value.

Updated iTunes Video and Audio Asset Guide
Our updated iTunes Video and Audio Asset Guide includes additional details on the new poster art formats and dimensions. In addition, we’ve also added clarifications for closed captioning profiles, including acceptable frame rates.

iTunes Store Movies Data Standards and Style Guide
As part of the new Resources and Help, we’ve added and updated the following in the iTunes Store Movies Data Standards and Style Guide:

• Restrictions on artwork with borders
• Guidelines for providing physical release dates
• Synopsis structure: Line spacing and line breaks
• Providing a disclaimer for lectored (voice-over) audio in the local synopsis for Poland
• Best Practices section for MLF packages
