Apple Music Analytics API: New Asynchronous Batch Processing features

We are happy to announce Asynchronous Batch Processing, an all-new feature for the Music Analytics API, is now live for the audience-engagement and audience-overlap endpoints. This feature allows you to run more compute-intensive API calls, with higher thresholds on entity ID limits, and get your results at a later time. New endpoints can help manage these long-running queries, allowing you to see your status, cancel a process, or retrieve your results. Some highlights of this new feature include:

  • Increased query limits
    • The limits on the number of entities you can specify have been increased to 5,000 artists, 10,000 albums, and 10,000 songs.
    • Macro queries can now look back 365 days, increased from 31 days in standard API calls.
  • Macro discovered-in
    • Macro discovered-in highlights growth in discovery and re-engagement. Search across your entire catalog to identify the unexpected or unknown content experiencing a spike, identify the source of discovery across your catalog, and understand the impact of editorial or marketing efforts on the discovery of your content.
