Updates to Apple Music Financial Reports
December 1, 2015
Apple Music financial reports now include information about paid memberships and Beats 1 plays.
Royalties for Individual and Family Monthly Paid Memberships
Royalties for the Apple Music individual and family monthly paid memberships are now shown at the top of the cover sheet file. You'll find the number of royalty bearing plays for these memberships in the detail file.
Use the Effective Per Play Rate to allocate these royalties at the song or music video level. The Effective Per Play Rate is shown in the Net Royalty column of the detail file.
Royalties for Beats 1 plays
Royalties for broadcasts of your content on Apple Music’s Beats 1 station are now included at the bottom of the summary file. The number of royalty bearing broadcast plays are shown in the new, Beats 1 detail file.
Note that Beats 1 royalties distributed with your October earnings include royalties for plays in the months between July and October. To learn more about this new report, see Appendix D in the iTunes Connect Payments and Financial Reports Guide.
Use the Effective Per Play Rate to group royalty bearing transactions by reporting period. The Effective Per Play Rate is shown under each Beats 1 section in the cover sheet file and in the Net Royalty column of the detail file.
Offline indicator field
A new, offline indicator field, has been added to the Apple Music detail file. Similar to the offline indicator already included in the daily Apple Music trend reports, you can use this field to see the number of royalty bearing plays that occurred while devices were both online and offline.
