Refresh a Podcast

Apple routinely checks each podcast RSS feed to detect new episodes and any other metadata or artwork changes. Our system will display these changes on Apple Podcasts within 24 hours after detecting them.

Watch a video tutorial about refreshing podcasts.

My Podcasts in Podcasts Connect displays the time and date when each show was last refreshed.

If you update your podcast’s RSS feed with new media or metadata and don’t see the changes reflected on Apple Podcasts within 24 hours:

  • Confirm your changes are saved and published on your hosting provider’s platform.
  • Check the podcast status. If the status displays anything other than Active, you may need to troubleshoot the podcast RSS feed.
  • For artwork changes, ensure the new image has a different filename and meets our artwork requirements

If you’ve confirmed the above steps, and it’s been more than 24 hours since your podcast was last refreshed, select Refresh Feed.

Podcasts Connect schedules an update for your podcast. Allow up to 24 hours for any feed updates to appear on Apple Podcasts.

WARNING: Don’t refresh your podcast with every new episode or RSS feed edit. Overuse can result in the loss of this feature.
