Updated artwork requirements, Now Playing Info, and app integration tests.

December 1, 2021

We recently updated several specifications and guides to help you better manage your Apple TV content.

New Artwork Requirements

Updated artwork requirements for use on the Apple TV app include:

  • Vector version of your partner logo in white

  • Hexadecimal color to be used as background for the white logo

Sending Now Playing Info Updates

The Apple TV App and Universal Search Guide has been updated to provide proper guidance on implementing Now Playing Info with interstitial content. If your content contains interstitial content, set the Playback Rate to 0 and do not update the Elapsed Time during interstitial content playback. Once interstitial content playback is complete, resume updating Now Playing Info as applicable for your asset.

Adding Private Entitlements to Provisioning Profile

There’s a new way to add private entitlements to your provisioning profile. See Developer Account Help for more details.

iOS and tvOS 15 Integration Tests

We recommend that you test and verify your Apple TV app integration with your existing and forthcoming apps against the new iOS and tvOS 15 release. As a best practice, you should always test your apps with every app or operating system update, including dot releases. For details on how to run a set of regressions tests, visit the Apple TV App and Universal Search Guide.
